About 20 years ago, Coop Box from Bibbiano near Reggio Emilia presented Mac Due with the problem of packaging thermoformed trays. The customer had not considered the design of a special machine for this purpose and searched for solutions at companies from Canada and Russia -- without results. At that point, Mac Due decided to design the first machine for thermoformed trays featuring a multi-channel structure that could interface with the machines upstream of the line.

Since then, Mac Due has collaborated closely with producers of thermoforming machines to develop machines specifically designed for handling and packaging thermoformed trays: automated or semi-automated machines for performing the first wrapping around products and an automated machine to bundle the single packs of trays and wrap them in the transport pack.

Mac Due’s collaboration with the multinational Irwin, for example, led to the design of machines perfectly interfaced with the production cycle of thermoforming machines.

Over the years, the market of thermoformed trays has demanded increasingly higher speeds. Mac Due has responded with technical solutions on its machines by installing carriages, push units and brushless motors to guarantee rapid and precise mechanical movements.
